OVERVIEW

Our Product
Advanced Braking Technology is proud to present its patented Sealed Integrated Braking System (SIBS). The SIBS design is based on extensive research and development and will change the way you view braking.  SIBS performs in the harshest of conditions with virtually no need for maintenance or reconditioning.

SIBS is specifically designed to protect you and your machinery. SIBS is so hardy it is capable of surviving in the toughest of environments. This makes SIBS one of the most dependable braking solutions available.  Less maintenance means your machinery spends more time being productive. SIBS ensures you become more productive by removing periods of extended downtime while the brakes are being reconditioned.  SIBS is currently available for on-road / off-road light commercial vehicle applications. In fact, such is its adaptability that SIBS can be fitted (or retro-fitted) to any braked application, large or small, automotive or industrial. To find out more information on how SIBS can be applied to you and your machinery, contact us!

SIBS Technology
The Sealed Integrated Braking System (SIBS)is a unique new product leading the way in brake technology.  SIBS is an enclosed single-rotor high speed disc brake. It incorporates greater reliability in a compact enclosed package.

SIBS has been developed with these design philosophies at the forefront:

  • safety
  • advanced technology
  • simplicity

The benefit to the user is unrivalled dependability in any situation

The construction of SIBS is simple. The brake calliper, providing the braking force, is extended to enclose the disc. This makes up the housing.  The housing is split around the disc into inner and outer portions. The inner housing is mounted to the axle end. The pads, disc and hub are installed; and the outer housing is fitted to complete the assembly and enclose the brake components. At this point SIBS cooling fluid is added into the housing.  SIBS cooling fluid is a specially selected oil which provides a path to conduct the heat from the brake disc to the housing. This enables the heat to then be rejected from the housing to the surrounding air, controlling the operating temperature of the system  SIBS is simple to install and simple to operate. It utilises conventional actuation means and is applicable to any rotary equipment, large or small, industrial or automotive, on and off road.  The following pages explain how this technology delivers its performance.
